Here are some resources from a St. Cecilia member who is discerning religious life.
- Discerning Religious Life by Mother Clare Matthiass (highly recommended specifically for women who are discerning, it’s a very practical, very easy to read book)
- What Does God Want? by Fr. Michael Scanlan (highly recommended by a lot of vocational directors. Not specifically about religious discernment but a great book about Catholic decision making in general and very applicable to religious discernment)
- Council of Major Superiors of Women Religious (CMSWR) vocations directory
St. Cecilia is part of the Archdiocese of Dubuque. To get started on your journey, contact the Archdiocesan Director of Vocations. As of the time of this writing, Fr. Kyle at St. Thomas Aquinas here in Ames is the Associate Director of Vocations. He would be able to assist you as well.
