    About Adoration

The Eucharist is adored whenever parishioners and visitors worship Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, the Host consecrated at Mass. The greatest act of Christian worship is the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. Jesus does not leave His Church when Mass is completed. He continues to remain in the Tabernacle. His Presence is indicated by the red lamp lit nearby. Only your desire is necessary for you to have a personal audience with Our Lord Jesus, reposed in the tabernacle.

St. Cecilia Parish also offers scheduled Eucharistic Adoration, when Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament is exposed in a monstrance. The monstrance is a holy object specially designed so the Blessed Sacrament is visible to all who come to worship Him. When the consecrated Host is in the monstrance, at least one person, and preferably two, MUST remain with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, to worship Him and also to act as His guardian. These persons are called adorers.

If you need to cancel your hour

If you are unable to attend your hour, please check with another adorer scheduled at your hour. As long as one scheduled adorer can attend the hour, there is no need to find a substitute. If none of the scheduled adorers is able to attend, contact one of the division leaders, listed in the Contacts section below.

In case of inclement weather, Eucharistic Adoration will be automatically suspended if St. Cecilia school is cancelled for the day. If school is delayed, Eucharistic Adoration will begin at 12 pm noon that day. If there is an early dismissal, the affected adorers will be contacted and there will not be Eucharistic Adoration until the following day’s scheduled start time. In addition, there may be other circumstances that do not follow these guidelines when Eucharistic Adoration is suspended.

In the case of a suspension of Eucharistic Adoration, the Parish Office will be notified and the website updated. Affected Adorers will be notified by text or email using the “Remind” app. All new adorers receive an invitation to join “Remind”. Adorers may alternately choose to be notified by phone. If adorers have concerns about the weather, and they have not been contacted, they may contact their division leader or the head coordinator listed in the Contacts section below to alert them to possible bad weather/road conditions.
