Melissa is the Elementary Faith Formation Coordinator. She works with both the school and parish families to grow in their prayer life and love of Jesus. She is in charge of First Reconciliation, First Communion, Catechesis of the Good Shephard (CGS) program, and K-5 evening Faith Formation sessions. She walks with parents, as they are the primary educators of their child’s faith. She also leads the Faith Formation team in planning the summer VBS program.
Melissa holds an undergrad degree from Central College in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Early Childhood Education and Reading, a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Northern Iowa, and is trained in all three levels of CGS, which is over 300 hours of training.
Melissa lives in Huxley. She is mom to Carolyn, a tech nurse at Blank Children’s Hospital; William, who is in the AirGuard and goes to the University of Iowa; and Harrison, who attends Ballard Schools and loves soccer. She is also the proud Gigi to Kinsely, a student here at St. Cecilia’s. In her free time, she loves to read, go to the movies, and craft.
