Robin Fletcher

5th Grade Teacher

Robin Fletcher was raised in Ames, attending Roosevelt Elementary School, Central Junior High, and AHS.  Her maiden name was Haugland.  Her father was from Story City and her mother was from Georgia.  She has many Norwegian relatives in the Ames, Story City, and Nevada area.

Robin attended UNI, graduating in 1978, married Kim Fletcher in 1979, and began teaching in southeast Iowa.  She taught all grades from 1-8 in the Eddyville- Blakesburg School District.  She has two daughters, Amy Mellies of Ames, and Linsey Zimmerman of Cedar Falls, (also a teacher) and five grandchildren.

Robin loves teaching, and returned her to St. Cecilia after taking only two years of retirement.  She loves to cook southern “fried” recipes and bake Norwegian treats!  She loves to walk at Ada Hayden, travel, and she quilts during the winter months. She feels like God (and Bill Ripp) led her to this place and she is thankful every day to be back in the classroom working with young people!
