The President’s Award for Education Excellence
The purpose of the President’s Award for Educational Excellence is to provide an incentive for all students to aspire to the highest educational standards possible. To be eligible for the President’s Award for Educational Excellence, a student must have achieved the 90th percentile or higher on the composite score of the Iowa Assessments over the last two years. This year we have eleven students who have met the criteria. Congratulations to: Lily Angus, Davis Cowan, Josey Hill, Christian Humphrey, Cole Kaptur, Zachary Loecke, Xavier McNicholl, Mariana Ortiz, Gabriella Teske, Delilah Valline and Bowen Walton.

These students did not score above the 90th percentile, but their grades and achievements have warranted special mention: Michael Cochran, Sophie Fox and Emrick Ryan.

The Citizenship Award
There are many components to citizenship; be they rights, responsibilities or rules. Citizenship is seeing that there is a connection among these various components. It is upholding the beliefs and values of self, of others, of the community, and in so doing having a positive impact on the whole community.
In order to be selected for the St. Cecilia School Citizenship Award, one must meet the following criteria:
• Show a positive attitude toward school,
• Act in accordance with what Jesus has taught us to do,
• Exemplify the beliefs that Jesus taught us, and
• Possess the strength of character to do what is right.
One young man and young woman has been chosen to be this year’s recipients. Congratulations to Ayak Akol and Wesley Carl.

2018-2019 Tuition & Hot Lunch Balances
Just one last reminder that if you have any 2018-2019 tuition or hot lunch balances to please pay them by June 5, 2019. This date will allow us to process the payment before the office closes on June 7, 2019. Thank you.

FACTS Tuition Management – If you haven’t done so, please complete all steps (steps 4-8 updated with additional information):
Every preschool and school family will need to set up a FACTS account as we will bill tuition and fees through FACTS starting next school year.
1. Go to: https://online.factsmgt.com/signin/3Z9B0
2. If you already have a FACTS account through the Student Tuition Organization (STO), you will use the same sign on and will see a separate tab ‘Payment Plan & Billing.’
3. If you do not have a FACTS STO account already, please ‘create an account.’
4. Upon signing in or creating an account, you will go through a set up process which will include adding your students, picking a payment plan and entering your bank information.
5. After completing this process, your account will be ‘pending.’ Please make sure you go through and receive a ‘pending’ message.
6. After you receive this ‘pending’ status, your FACTS enrollment fee will be taken from your account between 10-14 days.
7. The office will receive notice and enter your 2019-2020 tuition/fees to ‘finalize’ your account, then your payment will start on the date you selected.
8. Starting August 1st, you’ll be able to ‘prepay’ your students’ lunch accounts.

School Office
The school office will be closed for summer break from June 8th through July 22nd. If you need immediate assistance during this time, please contact the parish office. Thank you and have a great summer!

Mileage Club Reminder
Parents, if your student tallied 30+ miles during Mileage Club this season, they brought home a t-shirt, and information on registering for the Hope Run. Remember to register by June 13th, and use the code to have your registration fee waived. Mary Greeley is asking students to wear the t-shirt they earned to the Hope Run.
Hope Run is held Saturday, June 15 at 8AM at the Ames Middle School. Remember, all students may register and participate in the event, only students tallying 30+ miles are offered a free registration.

A Summer Blessing
May you walk with God
This summer
In whatever you do
Wherever you go

Walking with God means…
Walking with honesty
And with courage,
Walking with love
And respect
And concern for the feelings of others

May you talk to God
This summer
And every day and
In every situation

Talking with God means…
Praying words of praise
For the beauty of creation
Saying prayers of thanks
For friends and good times,
Asking God’s help
In all your decisions
Expressing sorrow
When you have failed

May you talk with God
Every day. Amen.
