PRINCIPAL NOTES – Friday, August 23, 2019

Welcome back to St. Cecilia for the 2019-2020 school year! What a blessing to see everyone this morning excited and ready to begin a new year of growing and learning with our friends. Thank you all for the grace you showed me last year during my first year as principal, and I look forward to walking this journey with you again! School Hours
Even though the 2019-2020 school calendar states differently, our school hours will be the following due to busing:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday 8:25 a.m. to 3:20 p.m.
Wednesday 8:25 a.m. to 2:05 p.m.
Students are asked to go to the multi-purpose room from 8-8:15 a.m. and will be dismissed to their lockers and classrooms at 8:15 a.m.

All School Mass – Multi-Purpose Room Mural Unveiling & Cookie Reception – August 28th
You are invited to attend our first All School Mass on Wednesday, August 28th starting at 9 a.m. in the church, then after Mass, we are hosting a cookie reception to unveil our new multi-purpose room mural designed and completed by Tim Read. We hope you are able to attend this special event.

Wednesday reminders
You are always invited to attend our All School Masses or Prayer Services held at 9 a.m. on most Wednesdays throughout the school year. Also, please note that school is dismissed at 2:05 p.m. on most Wednesdays throughout the school year to allow for staff professional development.

Preschool Begins…
Our first preschool classes will begin on Tuesday, September 3rd. The morning class is from 8:15-11 a.m. and our afternoon class is from 12:30-3:15 p.m.

FACTS Tuition Management – Incidental Billing
Every preschool and school parents should have set up their incidental billing information as well as their tuition account by now. The incidental billing will be used throughout the school year to collect miscellaneous charges such as Family School Association dues and field trip fees. If you have not set this up or if you have any questions, please contact the school office immediately. Thank you.

Coffee & Donuts Sign Up
Dear Parents & Staff,
Coffee and Donuts are served on most Sunday mornings following the 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Masses. This is a time for parishioners to gather in fellowship while enjoying coffee, donuts, juice, milk and conversation. It can also be a time for groups to gain exposure to other members of our Church community.
Please consider covering a slot for St. Cecilia School. We are asking for 4 family or staff members to assist. St. Cecilia School is signed up to host on the following dates (9/22 10:30AM, 10/6 8:30AM, 11/24 10:30AM & 12/8 8:30AM). If you’re able to assist, please sign up at:

Altar Server Training
Altar server training will be provided for 5th graders for weekend and school Masses. Training sessions will take place after school in the Church on Thursday, August 29, Tuesday, September 3 & Wednesday, September 4 and will last about an hour. Please pick one of the sessions to attend. Sessions are capped at 6 participants to facilitate training.

Please join us for the annual St. Cecilia Pack 159 Welcome Back Potluck Picnic!
Monday September 2nd at North River Valley Park Hawthorn shelter starting at 4pm.
Cub Scouts is now for boys and girls in Kindergarten through 5th grade. A civics and religious program that teaches outdoor skills, service, and leadership. Cub Scouts builds character through adventure based activities. Come meet the Pack 159 families and see what the fun is all about.
