With sadness I inform you of the death of Father John Herzog on the morning of 17 May 2023. He was 92 years-old. He was ordained a priest for 67 years.
The Visitation will be on Tuesday, 23 May 2023, from 9:30-11:00am, at St. Thomas Aquinas church, Ames (2210 Lincoln Way).
The Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, 23 May 2023, at 11 am, at St. Thomas Aquinas church.
A luncheon will follow in the parish hall
He donated his body to science so there will be no burial at this time.
If you are able to attend any or all of the funeral services, it would be a work of mercy for the soul of Father Herzog, and a consolation to his family members and friends.
According to our custom, the priests of the Archdiocese are asked to offer three Masses for the happy repose of his soul.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace.
