COVID-19 Emergency Fund for Story County Immigrants (July update)

In March of this year,  members of local churches and organizations met to find a way to provide financial assistance for our immigrant neighbors who were disproportionately affected by the COVID-19 virus. The COVID-19 Emergency Fund for Story County Immigrants was the result. Since that time, through generous donations from St. Cecilia parishioners, other individuals, churches and organizations, we have been able to provide over $89,000 in rent and utility assistance to 83 different households. We are now working with Good Neighbor Emergency Assistance, The Salvation Army and others to maximize the help that can be provided. The need is great. We are continuing to receive new applications for assistance and so far, very few of our earlier applicants have been able to return to full time employment. We are asking for your continued generosity to our poorest neighbors. Checks can be made out to St. Cecilia Church with “COVID-19 Fund for Immigrants” in the memo line.

Thank you, and God bless you!
