To more fully knit every person into the fabric of our community, AMOS congregations in Story County have launched the Central Iowa Community ID card, a photo ID that is reliable proof of the holder’s identity and residence.   If you are 16 or older, you can get a card of your own and demonstrate your support.  The next ID card drive will take place Saturday, Dec. 7, at the Ames Middle School Commons, 3519 Mortensen Rd.  We will begin admitting people at 9am and 1pm in the order they lined up.  You must arrive by the time of the orientation from Ames Police and other  community leaders, which begins at 10am and 2pm.  Plan to devote a few hours between orientation, paperwork, and photos.  The card costs $8 (cash only) and has a life of two years.  To obtain the Community ID, all proofs of identity and residence that are used to get an Iowa driver’s license can be presented, but in addition, some alternative forms of identity documentation can be accepted.  Please phone (515) 599-8149 or go to www.communityid.org for more information about what forms of proof you will need and what to expect.
