Ames Crop Hunger Walk

The Annual Ames Area CROP (Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty) Hunger Walk raises over $37,000 annually to help fight hunger locally, nationally, and globally.  Where does the money go?  25% of the money raised during the local walk stays in Ames.  Last year 7 non-profits shared $9,350.  75% goes to the global Mission work of Church World Services transforming communities around the globe through just and sustainable responses to hunger, poverty, displacement and disaster.  This year, students in grades 4 and 5 at St. Cecilia School, lead by Mrs. Robin Fletcher, will again be participating in the walk today, October 14 at Brookside Park, 1325 6th Street, Ames.  Registration is at 1pm with the 3.5 mile walking starting at 1:30.  Pleasevisit to register or to learn more.
